Hi I actually posted a video on this yesterday! I'm still thinking bout what Jesus meant.... I think it's something to do with the religious folk who lord it over the little people with thier man made rules and think they are above others because of their moral lifestyle.god looks on the inside and often the so called religious elite appear good but inside they are vipers without the love of god in their arrogant hearts!!!! Maybe being this way causes you to become 'spiritually blind' to the real work of the Spirit and experience of Jesus?
Julie, thanks for stopping by. So you think that the "religious folk" make themselves blind somehow, by the way they position themselves over the common people?
If that's the case, is the blindness inadvertent, or is it sort of intentional, like turning their heads away or putting blinders on?
So as a "follower of Christ" You believe he was the first one to show us that. That something changed with him, like the actual person/human who was Jesus (not just a figurehead for our cultures mythology?) Was he the only one? How does first apply when linear time is such a western concept that surely we can not apply to God?
Just two questions that come from my quick read. I'll chew on what you said some more.
We just got back from our belated Ash Wednesday service. What am I thinking.....?
I'm not sure. I'm reading some Brian McLaren right now. Just trying to get back into the church year. See what it's all about. Reflect on that tradition, and what I can get behind and what not.
I know I want to believe in something, I know I believe in something, and sometimes that's enough. But sometimes it's not.
That's what I'm thinking. Thanks for the conversation.

This is great. Let me chew on it for a while...
ReplyDeleteBy the way, animists are compasses, too. But they are held captive to their fears.
