99 Pictures of Sudan

Here's a good sampling of what we experienced in Southern Sudan a couple weeks ago.

  1. So is the basic situation that they are surrounded by good agricultural land but for some reason are not fully utilizing it? It looked like there was mostly a bunch of scrub land surrounding the village.

  2. The pictures from the air that look like west Texas are from the eastern part of Southern Sudan, which is very arid. Seriously, it's like El Paso out there east of the Nile.

Most of the time we were in a much more lush setting. There are thousands and thousands of acres available for farming. It will be decades before they run out of farmable acres.
